About This Tool
Universal Payment & SaaS Fee Calculator shows exactly what a card or online payment costs you. Choose your country and processor - Stripe, PayPal or Square - and the standard published rates fill in, or enter your own. See the fees and what you receive on any payment, or work out the price to charge so that you receive a set amount after fees. It includes international card and currency conversion surcharges, platform and marketplace fees, your monthly software cost and tax on fees, gives a monthly cost estimate, and compares the processors side by side. Every fee is rounded to the cent the way processors bill it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Most processors charge a percentage of the payment plus a fixed fee. On Stripe's standard US rate of 2.9% + $0.30, a $100 payment costs $2.90 + $0.30 = $3.20, so you receive $96.80. Extra percentages are added for international cards and for currency conversion.
Divide the amount you want plus the fixed fee by one minus the percentage rate. To receive exactly $100 through Stripe US you need to charge $103.30, because the fee on $103.30 is $3.30. The calculator does this for you and rounds to the cent the way processors do.
They are each provider's standard published rates, checked in September 2026. Your own account may have different pricing, and providers change their prices, so check your pricing page and edit the rates if they differ.
Stripe, PayPal and Square do not offer standard merchant accounts to businesses in Pakistan. Choose Custom rates and enter the percentage and fixed fee from your local payment gateway or bank.
Many online stores, marketplaces and app stores take their own percentage on top of the payment processor. Enter it as the platform fee, and add your monthly plan price to see your true monthly cost.
Raising your price to cover fees is fine everywhere. Adding a separate card surcharge is different: it is banned for consumer cards in the UK and EU and restricted in some US states, so check the rules where you sell.
