Encrypted Message
Encrypt a message and share it as a link that expires automatically.
Secret Message
Encrypt a message, get a link that expires on its own, and share the secret key with your friend.
After this time, the link stops working. Links can't be created for longer than 30 days.
Features
- AES-256-GCM encryption, done entirely in your browser
- Optional shareable link with a self-chosen expiry, from 10 minutes to 30 days
- Secret key is never sent to or stored on the server
- Link stops working automatically once it expires
- 100% free, no registration required
How to Use
Write your message in the Encrypt tab.
Choose how long the link should stay valid, from 10 minutes up to 30 days.
Click Encrypt & Create Link, then send the link and the secret key to your recipient through two different channels.
Your recipient opens the link, pastes the secret key, and clicks Decrypt, before the link expires.
About This Tool
Secret Message encrypts your text in your browser with AES-256, then, optionally, gives you a shareable link that self-destructs after a time limit you choose (from 10 minutes up to 30 days). Only your recipient, who also needs the separately-shared secret key, can decrypt it. The server only ever sees the already-encrypted data, never your message or your key.
Frequently Asked Questions
The encrypted message is no longer retrievable by anyone, including you. Opening an expired link shows a clear "link expired" notice instead of the message.
30 days. You can also choose shorter options like 10 minutes, 1 hour, or 2 days when you create the link.
No. Your message is encrypted in your browser before anything is sent anywhere, and the secret key is never transmitted or stored, only the resulting unreadable encrypted data is kept, temporarily, for the link to work.
No, you can still copy the raw encrypted text and secret key and send them yourself with no server storage and no expiry, using the "Prefer not to use a link?" option under the Encrypt tab.
